Have you ever wanted to just escape, and get back to basics of life and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature?
Get away from it all and stay with us in our traditional shepherd’s hut on our working farm in a quiet corner of South West Scotland.
Our hut has uninterrupted views of the River Cree and the Galloway Hills in the distance. On warmer evenings sit outside, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and as night falls enjoy the splendour of the Dark Skies Park. If it’s wet and windy retreat inside where you will be warm and toasty beside the wood burning stove!
Our shepherd’s hut sleeps 2 in a comfortable double bed. There is an en-suite eco WC, but no shower facility. All bed linen and towels are provided, along with spare blankets for colder days and there is a good range of basic cutlery and crockery.
There is NO Wi-Fi, NO phone signal and NO hot tub but what you do have is books, cards, board games and a radio to keep you entertained. There is a wood burner and a basket of logs. A gas stove with kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. There is a socket if you do need to charge your phone and solar powered lights but NO mains electric. The hut is strictly no smoking and, sorry, no dogs either.
Off road parking is available but there is a short walk to the hut across a field with no hard path so wear sensible shoes (wellies are recommended on wet days!).
We are open 10 months of the year; closed for lambing during March and April. £60 per night based on 2 people sharing.
A continental breakfast is available by prior arrangement (£7.50 per person)
