An amazing, eco-friendly shepherds hut with lovely woolly neighbours! Spent a night in this wonderful wee hut and will definitely be returning. Sarah goes over and above to ensure her guests are more than comfortable during there stay with every little detail, everything is thought of! We spent the night soaking in the night sky and woke to a beautiful sunset. Creeside is the perfect place to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of the real world and reconnect with each other and nature! Thank you so much for creating such a blissful hut! We stayed here shortly after the 100 billionth wave of the pandemic allowed us out in May 2021 and it was like a cool breeze on a very hot day. We cycled to Creeside and the last 10km was on the forest logging road after ascending across the mountains from Maybole. We arrived on a sunny afternoon with an abundance of ewes and lambs out and about. The Hut was spotless and we dumped our stuff and then ourselves with a cup of tea in the sun observing the lambs joyfully bound about. The next day was rainy and dreich as the Scottish say but lo and behold, the views out the window, the wood fired stove and some good books plus plenty of games on the shelves kept us entertained. Also, a quick phone call brought Sarah & Daisie with more wood and water full of smiles despite the wind driving the rain into their faces. A wonderful little escape - dark skies, quiet, comfortable, where the world has a different pace. If you want to find yourself and be inspired by nature, simplify things for yourself - this is the place to got to. We loved our two-day stay with the bikes and we would love to come back!

CREESIDE ESCAPE SHEPHERD’S HUT

Have you ever wanted to just escape, and get back to basics of life and enjoy the sights and sounds of nature?

Get away from it all and stay with us in our traditional shepherd’s hut on our working farm in a quiet corner of South West Scotland.

Our hut has uninterrupted views of the River Cree and the Galloway Hills in the distance. On warmer evenings sit outside, relax and enjoy the beautiful scenery and as night falls enjoy the splendour of the Dark Skies Park. If it’s wet and windy retreat inside where you will be warm and toasty beside the wood burning stove!

Our shepherd’s hut sleeps 2 in a comfortable double bed. There is an en-suite eco WC, but no shower facility. All bed linen and towels are provided, along with spare blankets for colder days and there is a good range of basic cutlery and crockery.

There is NO Wi-Fi, NO phone signal and NO hot tub but what you do have is books, cards, board games and a radio to keep you entertained. There is a wood burner and a basket of logs. A gas stove with kettle and complimentary tea and coffee. There is a socket if you do need to charge your phone and solar powered lights but NO mains electric.The hut is strictly no smoking and, sorry, no dogs either.

Off road parking is available but there is a short walk to the hut across a field with no hard path so wear sensible shoes (wellies are recommended on wet days!).

We are open 10 months of the year; closed for lambing during March and April. £60 per night based on 2 people sharing.

A continental breakfast is available by prior arrangement (£7.50 per person)

With the open spaces on the doorstep at Creeside Escape Shepherd’s Hut, and the wonderful places to visit locally make it the perfect place to enjoy a safe break. We can’t wait to welcome guests to enjoy this special place.

It is important that we are able to provide a safe environment for you to enjoy your stay. We are absolutely committed to doing so.

Creeside Escape Shepherd’s Hut is a member of the Association of Scotland’s Self-Caterers and this trade association has collaborated to develop a strict cleaning protocol for the self-catering sector, in the context of Covid-19.

I have personally undertaken Cleaning Protocol Training and am fully competent in my knowledge of the UK wide Cleaning Protocols for Self-Catering Properties and Short-Term Lets in the Context of Covid-19.

We have also updated our Risk Assessments and Cleaning checklists. And we have completed the AA Covid Confident establishment rating scheme to further enhance our knowledge.
